Jaimac Dairy Converts Steel Stalls to RELAX Flexible Freestalls
Jaimac Dairy in New London, Wisconsin is upgrading cow comfort by converting existing steel stalls to RELAX Flexible Freestalls. The project gives the herd a more forgiving stall environment while helping improve positioning, cleanliness, and stall use.
The RELAX system, is designed as a flexible alternative to rigid barn stall dividers. Instead of hard steel contact points, RELAX uses flexible upper and lower pipe dividers and a floating control rail to help guide natural cow movement as cows enter, lie down, and rise. Once installed, RELAX can help cows enter stalls and lie down more quickly, increase lying time, keep stalls cleaner through proper positioning, support milk production, and reduce cull rate.
Why Jaimac Dairy Chose RELAX Flexible Freestalls
For dairy producers, stall design has a direct impact on dairy cow comfort, bedding cleanliness, labor, and overall herd performance. RELAX Flexible Freestalls are built to reduce stress in the stall by giving cows a more forgiving divider system compared to traditional rigid steel stalls.
Key RELAX features include:
- Flexible upper and lower pipe dividers that gently guide cow movement
- A floating control rail that supports stall entry, lying, and positioning
- Mounting options for cement-in posts, bolt-down posts, or elevated twin-beam systems
- Layout flexibility for single-row or head-to-head stall configurations
- Dairy-tough materials including pliable composite pipe with galvanized steel posts, mounts, and hardware
Immediate Results in Cow Comfort
Jaimac Dairy shared the impact the project has already had on the herd:
Schmidt has a good crew of guys. They work hard, are very knowledgeable, quick and productive. The change in cow production and cow comfort since doing these projects has been instantaneous. I will be changing all stalls on my farm to RELAX Stalls by September of this year!
